International Tatting Day
Today is international tatting day. To celebrate I made a little bookmark from this pattern by Sharon Albers. I like sharing tatting projects because it’s an often forgotten craft that I think should come back into fashion the way other fibrecrafts like knitting, crochet and embroidery have.
First you make the butterflies
Then these are attached together as you make the flowers
The first flower is mostly made up of chains and I don’t like the look of it as much as the other two which are made from rings. I also prefer tatting rings over chains.
I like how quick it was to make something cute. This is going to be a Mother’s Day gift, but it would also make a nice present for Easter
