Knitted Time Rabbits
I really enjoy making things for other people so when a friend asked me if I’d make something for her little girl, of course I said yes. Her partner is in the Navy and spends a lot of time away from home. The Royal Navy and Royal Marines Children’s Fund has commissioned a book- Zoe and the Time Rabbit- to help families come to terms with a parental absence. The book comes with a pair of knitted or crocheted time rabbits. At the moment there’s a shortage of donations so her daughter was unable to get the rabbits to go with her book.

These adorable little rabbits were fairly quick and easy to make. They only use ~20g of yarn, a little stuffing, and some embroidery thread so you may be able to make some from your stash. I didn’t have any yellow yarn, but I have enough left over to make a few more pairs to donate. My friend’s little girl loved her rabbits and I’m hoping I can make a few more children happy by knitting some extras.
The RNRM Children’s Fund still doesn’t have enough rabbits for all of the families who have requested their copy of the book. If you’d like to donate, there’s more information and the pattern on their website.
