Here’s my final stitchmaynia post for this year. 6 more starts, then a round up of all my projects!
Day 26 is a new tatting pattern, and my first time working with beads. I’m making this up as I go along and it’ll eventually be a tiara, probably with a matching jewelry set
Day 27 was another first for me. I decided to try blackwork. I’m really happy with the little motif I came up with for the fill
I was so inspired by my first blackwork attempt that I decided to start another the following day. I didn’t get so far with this one as plotting out the star outline took me ages! Turns out 5 point stars are harder than I thought
Day 29 saw me finally start a tatting idea I’ve had for ages. I’m hoping to put some more time in on this one during June and get it finished
Next I worked on some more tatting. I’m trialing various motifs and trying to work out how to make the shapes I want. So far none of them are working out quite right, but eventually it’ll be a choker
Finally, my last Stitchmaynia start is another cross stitch. This is a fun design I created inspired by a friend of mine. I’ll probably regret the black fabric, but I love how the Etoile threads look on it
Looking back on Stitchmaynia, I enjoyed starting a lot of new projects. I tried out new things and finally got some idea out of my head and into action. In 31 days I managed 31 starts. Of those 31, I finished 6 projects. Hopefully I’ll manage to get the rest finished at some point! There were 11 cross stitch, 7 tatting, 8 crochet, 1 embroidery 2 blackwork (does that come under cross stitch or embroidery?) and 1 mixed tatting/embroidery projects. I think my favourite project was my Wonder Woman tiara.
How did your Stitchmaynias go? I’d love to see the projects you worked on
